Oak Valley Art Show

 Oak Valley Middle School's Art Show is this week and we got a preview yesterday of the wonderful work their students have done.  Our new lessons designed to connect to the Social Studies curriculum have been a great success.  Kudos to Anita, Linda and Janice for their invaluable contribution to the creation and implementation of these new lessons and congratulations to all the volunteers who presented these lessons in the classroom.  Here are a few gems.

MATTING WORKSHOPS/ART SHOWS

The Matting workshops have already begun!  Important work will now begin leading to the annual Art Show.  The Art Show celebrates the artist in every child and the students are very proud to show off their piece to friends and family.

At the matting workshop you will receive instructions for choosing, matting, labeling and displaying the students' artwork from your class at the school-wide Art Show.

It is very important that a representative from your class attends.  The materials for labeling and submitting the artwork will also be distributed.  If you have questions, please call your school's Head Coordinator for Art Corps.

ART CORPS at KidsWalk 2011

The ART CORPS activity table this year at KidsWalk in Little Italy was a beehive of artistic expression.  With Kandinsky as our muse, fabulous artwork was created by children of all ages.  Hope you all enjoyed the experience.  A BIG THANKS goes to Linda and Liz for expert planning and preparation, and thanks to Julie, Kathleen, Anita, Paula and Kathy for helping out.
